Todd at Darryl Hall's House [Oct. 2nd, 2009|10:53 pm]

Daryl Hall has an online show where he sings, plays and records with different artists along with his band.

Here is a great episode with Todd as the guest artist, doing some Todd songs, some other artists songs and I think just one Hall & Oates tune.
Todd is spot on with the vocals. They also do some commentary and the band helps cook a meal together.
Good production value, quite entertaining and you don't have to register at the website to watch.

You may recall that Darryl Hall (and I think Oates) sang with Todd on the Back to the Bars tour
as well as were produced by him on the War Babies Album. I have always thought that they had
a very similar singing style...but you can see in this how now they have definitely grown vocally, yet
still sing very well together. There is also some hilarity as they make homemade sausages.

AWATS broadcast [Sep. 18th, 2009|11:35 am]
Todd Rundgren: A Wizard, a True Star

Greetings..although I've been on LJ for years, didn't know about this community.
Did anyone catch the live broadcast of AWATS? I am sure that some of you attended in person, however I, living in California choose not to make the trek to the midwest for this special event.
However, I did happen to "accidentally" come up the link to the live broadcast about a half an hour into the 2nd Akron show. It was a stroke of my good fortune and my toddling friends, since it was not advertised that I know of, even in tight todd circles..
What did you all think of the show???..I saw both Akron shows and a bit of the Utopia set on the 2nd night.
I believe they are still available to view.

Todd Rundgren: A Wizard, a True Star

Hello everyone!

I recently went to see Todd Rundgren perform at the House of Blues in San Diego, California. It was such a great show! He really didn't play any of his old songs, but it was an awesome vibe and the band was very solid.

I noticed that they had this little stand with T-shirts and postcards to support a very cool project to celebrate "40 years of Todd Rundgren" :-)
This project has been done two times in the past and it's on full steam again.

You donate $5 dollars to get your name in a Rolling Stone ad to celebrates Todd. If you donate $25.00, you also get a T-shirt. If you donate $100 or more, you also get a special prize.

It looks like this project has been Todd-approved since you can also purchase this at his shows.

To donate online: Visit www.toddata.com.
You donate through PayPal and submit your name through there, too. Your name should appear in the ad :-)

OR Mail a check or
money order made out to:

TODData
40 Years of Todd
3445 Seminole TR, Ste 275
Charlottesville, VA 22911

You can also donate at his shows! Hopefully he'll be playing in a city near you!

I just thought I'd let everybody know :-) I think it's a very cool thing to do to support Todd. We all know he truly deserves the recognition!
